i went to an olivia rodrigo concert 🫢🫢

*not my picture ofc....my phone quality could never be this good*

hi my capybaras (its been a while since ive called u guys that im sorry)

as u know, i attended an olivia rodrigo concert at the intuit dome a few days ago in inglewood. and i have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. i am so glad i got to go. there were many moments when every person in the crowd was screaming each lyric and it felt very united and amazing <3 it felt like i truly belonged there, with all my fellow livid livies.

but the part i just cannot believe, is that the CHAPPELL ROAN came on stage as a special guest!!!!!!! THE WAY. I. SCREAMED. i loved doing the h-o-t-t-o-g-o dance to the song. it was amazing. i am so so so lucky to have been there.

but let me take u thru the whole crazy night step by step.

we (we being me & some of my friends!) first entered the stadium, and knew we had to get some merch from a merch stand selling cute tees and tanks.

here is a pic of the one i got [def gonna wear it like every day!!]:

after, we walked around, scouting for our seats. finally finding them, we sat down and settled in for an entertaining and astonishing, performance from The Breeders, a famous rock band olivia greatly admires.

it hit 8:30 and the crowd was screaming on the top of their lungs. olivia was coming.
or was she?

i kept glancing at my phone, counting down the minutes until olivia would perform on the stage. i couldn't believe i was about to me in the same room as her. [this was my first olivia concert!]

8:35.

still nothing.

8:40.

nope.

it took a while for things to get started and what's funny is that every time the crowd / we thought olivia was coming out, we all yelled and screamed like psychos but nothing happened. this happened about 5 or 6 times until the bright purple lights dimmed and the visual on the big screen of 4 candles spelling out "GUTS" disappeared.

we all knew it was time.

olivia ran out from underneath the stage, stunning in a glimmering silver top and skirt singing pop anthem, bad idea right. [if ur wondering, we didnt do great on the mute challenge sadly] she even waved at my side of the crowd when she first came out, making me feel special <3

keep in mind la is her hometown!

ballad of a homeschooled girl up next, vampire [which was such a popular song, even the chaperones knew all the lyrics! lol], and traitor. liv then sat down at a piano and sang two heart-wrenching songs; one about watching ur ex move on but u still love them [and i know we weren't perfect but i've never felt this way for no one / and i just cant imagine how u could be so okay now that im gone] and one about dread of growing up [they all say that it gets better, it gets better the more you grow /yeah, they all say that it gets better, it gets better, but what if i dont?]

when singing teenage dream, the cutest home videos of olivia show on the screen. and when olivia goes back under the stage for an outfit change, baby olivia's voice echoes throughout the stadium! its too adorable.

then she comes out with a new outfit, this time a black top and black shorts, singing one of her most relatable songs, "pretty isn't pretty." a couple songs after, she sang making the bed which is one of my all time favorite olivia songs bc it just hits so to home, you could say.

then came one of the coolest parts of the show (in my opinion) the big screen that wrapped around the middle of the stadium turned on finally and showed an ethereal background of the moon and some beautiful pine trees.

olivia got onto the "moon" or a purple prop that represented the moon. she flew across the stadium singing sad girl anthems such as logical and enough for you (her favorite song off of her debut album, sour). she also asked each segment to scream as loud as they could at one point <3 from the people at the bottom and in the pit, to the people in the middle, and people all the way in the top.

olivia than exits off of the moon and back onto the stage to sing "lacy", the fourth track on her sophomore album, guts.

after that, she received a gift from a fan in the crowd, and in n out hat [in n out is her favorite fast food chain, as she explained during the show! <3]

"you guys, how do i look?" she asked us, posing with her leg out and giggling.

she then smoothy transitioned into the next song she had to play, jealousy jealousy. she ran to her guitarist, moa, showing off her hat. "looks like moa is suffering from some, uh, jealousy right abt now!"

a few songs later, it was time for another outfit change for the next "segment" of the show. this segment im gonna call the angry segment [lol]. she comes out, stunning in a red boysuit and tights.

for her song all american ****, she asks the whole crowd to--when the lights go out--scream their heart out about something / someone that really makes us angry. and we all did (even me, who was literally sick w a sore throat!). it was truly therapy lol.

and finally, the encore. olivia comes out in a tank top that said "liv laugh love", a funny reference to her nickname "liv" and a red megaphone. "ARE. YOU. STILL. WITH. ME. LOS ANGELES????" she yelled into the mic.

she then sang get him back & good 4 u and then ran down into the crowd for a barricade walk to take selfies with fans, etc.

and finally....the worst part of the show came....the end. olivia kissed the camera and waved emotional goodbyes to the fans in the crowds. tears formed in fans eyes.

olivia waved one last goodbye and blew one last kiss...and then she was gone! i will remember the concert until the day i die.
